Many people have help with their mortgage interest if they are receiving benefits such as income support or income based Job Seekers Allowance, now being converted to Universal Credit.
It is concerning that this is going to change in April 2018.
Support for mortgage interest is scheduled to be axed next April, after which an estimated 135,000 low-income homeowners who currently claim the free benefit will be forced to take a loan from the government instead – and pay interest on it.
It may be necessary to make application for maintenance to cover these costs, contact Derek Parsons on 023 8214 8800 for further information. Also it might be worth seeking financial advice from a financial advisor or mortgage broker.
